Table Notes

Total Lecture Hours: These figures represent the total amount of live lecture time for each course. The figures in this row may also vary by location as some Kaplan and Princeton Review courses may have fewer or greater hours.

Minimum Instructor GRE Percentile: The Minimum Instructor GRE Percentile is determined by the results of an Educational Testing Service (ETS)-administered GRE and corresponding percentiles. Current GRE scores consist primarily of two parts: a Verbal score and a Quantitative score. These scores are intended for interpretation independent of one another, and thus ETS does not designate a combined total that would represent an overall 99th percentile score. In order to meet our 99th percentile requirement, PowerScore requires that all instructors score in the 99th percentile on at least one of the two sections, with a minimum score of at least 700 on the other section. Some other companies, including Kaplan and Princeton Review, allow instructor applicants to come to their offices to take a pre-hiring GRE. However, since these GREs are not administered by ETS nor do they produce national score percentiles, these companies therefore have no minimum national standard.

Personal Set of Every Available Real GRE Question?: Each student in the PowerScore GRE class receives a personal copy of the GRE Practicing to Take the General Test, 10th Edition. This publication-from ETS, the makers of the test-contains every currently available real GRE question.

Total Course Cost: Costs for our competitors may vary by location. The PowerScore GRE course has a uniform national price of $395.

Cost per Lecture Hour: These figures are rounded to the nearest whole number. The figures show how much a student pays per hour of lecture time (total course cost divided by total lecture hours) for each company. Lower figures are preferable!
