This book is ideal for those who want further practice on the Analytical Reasoning section, and are working on any of the LSATs from 1995 to 2002. However, the text of each LSAT logic game is NOT included in the Ultimate Setups Guide, and must be purchased separately. We recommend purchasing 10 More Actual, Official LSAT PrepTests, as well The Next 10 Actual, Official LSAT PrepTests, as all of the logic games sections in all twenty of those tests are diagrammed and explained in the Setups Guide.

FAQ top

2. Is the Ultimate Setups Guide just a collection of setups or will it teach me how to do the games?
The Ultimate Setups Guide is a collection of thorough setups for each Logic Game from the tests referenced above, however this book does not contain the actual games or their corresponding questions. Further, the Ultimate Setups Guide does not provide a detailed analysis of how to make each inference in the setups provided. To learn PowerScore’s methodology for attacking the Analytical Reasoning section of the LSAT, you should purchase the Logic Games Bible.

The purpose of the Logic Games Bible is to teach you how to attack and solve every type of game that appears on the LSAT. There are extensive explanations of the PowerScore methodology, how-to’s on diagramming and inference-making, helpful drills, and of course full explanations for every problem in the book. The book features real LSAT games to help explain our approach and to provide you with practice in applying our techniques.

3. If some of the games in the book are drawn from the 10 Real LSAT PrepTests or 10 More Real LSAT PrepTests will that hurt my preparation?
No! First, there are over 200 LSAT games currently in release from Law Services, and the Setups Guide does not cover all of them. In addition, the Setups Guide is designed to be used primarily after you have attempted those games on your own. You can then utilize the Setups Guide to determine any mistakes or omissions that you may have made in diagramming a particular game, and study the supplied diagram to assist you as you continue to prepare.

FAQ top

4. Can you explain the difference between the LSAT Logic Games Bible and the Logic Games Ultimate Setups Guide?
The LSAT Logic Games Bible is a how-to guide that explains the methods we use to attack the Logic Games section, including how to identify game types, how to create efficient setups, how to make inferences, and how to solve questions. The Bible is the essential guide for learning exactly how to conquer the Logic Games section.

The Logic Games Ultimate Setups Guide contains the setups for every game from 1995 through 2002 (and the exclusive book website contains additional setups for other LSAT games). This is not a how-to guide, but a solution manual that shows you if you are correctly applying the techniques described in the Logic Games Bible. If you are thinking of buying only one book, buy the Logic Games Bible first. The Ultimate Setups Guide can be purchased later to supplement the information provided in the Games Bible.

Student Comments top

"I was feeling completely stymied by the games section of the LSAT in my studying, and consulted a few sources before trying the Logic Games Bible and Ultimate Setups Guide. The former gave me a systematic way of understanding and dealing with the games, and helped a great deal in getting them under control. Both books were the best resource I could find for help with the logical analysis section of the LSAT.

Jeffrey Clarke

"The Logic Games Bible and Ultimate Setups Guide contributed to my success on the LSAT. I scored in the 95th percentile. I strongly believe had I not used these books, then I would not have been as successful on the LSAT as I was. I went from getting approximately 7 problems correct on the Games section to being able to successfully complete all of the Games that I took on the actual test. The book was great."
- Sharon Calhoun

"I can't say enough about both the Logic Games Bible and the Setups Guide. Together with a slew of practice tests direct from LSAT, they were my only means of preparation for the June test. Although I haven't gotten my scores back yet, I can honestly say I never would have picked up on logic games as fast as I did with Powerscore materials."
- Stephen Oertle

"I was intimidated by the logic games section and confused by the explanations other prep books dispersed. So I brought the Logic Games Bible and Setups Guide and I was thrilled with the manner in which the material was presented and explained. The explanations were clear and concise and the PowerScore diagramming techniques proved to be invaluable. I would strongly recommend purchasing both books and the timer in order to ensure success on the logic games section. Thanks, PowerScore!
- Silvana Melazzini

"I have used your Logic Games Bible and Logic Games Ultimate Setups Guide, and I found both to be absolutely superb."
