Table Notes

Minimum LSAT Tutor Percentile: The Minimum LSAT Tutor Percentile is determined by the results of a Law Services-administered LSAT and corresponding percentile. All PowerScore instructors have taken an actual Law Services-administered LSAT and scored in the 99th percentile. Some other companies, including Kaplan and Princeton Review, allow instructor applicants to come to their offices to take a pre-hiring LSAT. However, since these LSATs are not administered by Law Services, and therefore do not produce national score percentiles, these companies have no minimum national standard.

Open Tutoring Per Hour Rate: The Open Tutoring Rate is the cost of one hour of tutoring at each company, assuming no package deals. For Kaplan, costs may vary depending on location. For the Princeton Review, the cost of tutoring is subject to change depending on your location and the type of tutor you request*. We encourage you to contact each company and inquire about pricing and instructor qualifications.

Lowest Per Hour Rate for Private Tutoring: Students interested in more than a few hours of tutoring can sign up for multi-hour packages that reduce the hourly tutoring rate. PowerScore and Kaplan both offer programs with fixed national pricing. For the Princeton Review, the cost of tutoring is subject to change depending on your location and the type of tutor you request*. Princeton Review rates can be as high as $300 per hour.

*Some companies, like the Princeton Review, classify their tutors based on their level of experience. PowerScore tutors are drawn from the pool of regular instructors who teach our LSAT courses and who have completed our training program. PowerScore only uses tutors who are of the highest quality level and effectiveness, and we do not permit individuals to teach or tutor unless we are fully satisfied that they have mastered our methods and techniques.
