PowerScore Full-Length ACT Course - $595

Just thinking about the ACT makes most high school students cringe. And it's completely understandable—who wants to spend months studying math formulas, grammatical rules, scientific graphs, and dry reading passages only for your efforts to culminate in a grueling four-hour official exam in a room packed with hyperventilating teenagers? No one, right? If only college admissions officers were so understanding.

Since the ACT is a required component of the admissions process, PowerScore is here to help. We can teach you the skills and strategies you need to ace the ACT in a relaxed classroom environment where you can also build testing endurance and prepare for the pressures of the exam.

40 hours of live classroom time

The Full-Length ACT course contains 24 hours of interactive, teacher-led training broken up into eight lessons, each of which is three hours long. There are also four practice test sessions for a total of 16 hours of practice with official ACT-released test questions. Read More

The lessons in the PowerScore Full-Length ACT course are divided into two subject areas, such as Math and English in Lesson One and Science and Reading in Lesson Two, in order to help you maintain focus and interest during the three hour class. A short break is always scheduled near the middle of the lesson.

All of the lessons include a homework assignment so that you can practice the concepts taught in class. The more exposure you have to the types of questions that appear on the ACT, the better you will do on test day. For more information about what we cover in class and in homework, check out our Full-Length ACT Course Syllabus.

Four real ACT tests timed by a proctor

In each of the four-hour practice test sessions, you will take a timed ACT test from The Official ACT Prep Guide. A trained proctor will call time through each section and follow the break schedule supplied by the makers of the test, ensuring you have an authentic testing experience. These practice tests provide accurate score indicators and help you build the endurance you need to succeed on the official exam. Read More

We know it's more convenient to take practice tests at home, but taking them in a timed setting provides far more advantages to you when you take an officially-administered ACT. With breaks and instructions, the test is four hours long. When was the last time you sat that long at a desk with a single task? We give you four opportunities to acclimate to the pressures of a test center and the length of the test so that by the time you take your real ACT, the experience is completely familiar and unlikely to jeopardize your performance.

We also insist on using real test questions from The Official ACT Prep Guide, unlike other companies who create their own practice tests. These simulated tests are written to ensure that you attain their score increase guarantee—and more importantly, to boost their deceptively high statistics when advertising courses. With these companies, the first practice test will surely be harder than the last one, so that your meteoric score increase will maintain or increase their averages. But guess what happens when you get your official score report back? It's nowhere near your final practice test results. We only use official standardized ACTs released by the makers of the test to ensure that your practice test scores accurately predict your ultimate score.

Of course, if you have to miss a class, you can take the test at home and use our virtual proctor tool. Either way, you'll be taking an official ACT, not a simulated one.

Of course, you must attend all lessons, take all practice tests, and complete the required homework. As much as we wish we could wave a magic wand and impart lasting knowledge to all of our students, it's just not that easy. Hard work and persistence are required to master the ACT, and perfect attendance and completed homework prove that you are as dedicated to score improvement as we are.

Additionally, if you manage to attain a perfect score on an officially-administered ACT, we'll award you for your hard work with a $1000 scholarship!

While a 95th percentile score may get an applicant an interview with PowerScore, we only hire the most energetic and enthusiastic candidates who demonstrate exemplary teaching ability. In addition, our teachers complete an extensive training program before ever entering the classroom, so you can be sure that your instructor understands the ACT and enjoys teaching its intricacies to high school students.

Outstanding course materials

The PowerScore Full-Length ACT Course contains two books: our Course Book, containing all eight lessons, and The Official ACT Prep Guide, including classroom practice tests and some of the course homework. You'll receive 1375 pages of material in book form—all yours to keep—to help you with your training. Read More

The Course Book contains strategies, concept review, and practice questions. The instructor will guide you through a concept from the book, such as Right Triangles in Math or Misplaced Modifiers in English, and then allow you time to complete an accompanying problem set to help you apply what you've learned.

The Official ACT Prep Guide is the only book available with real test questions so it is the single most important prep book for any student who is serious about preparing for the ACT. It includes five practice tests, four of which will be given in class under timed conditions. The remaining test will be used as homework.
