The GRE ScoreSelect Option

ScoreSelect allows you to decide which scores a school will see—and you don’t have to decide the same day you take the test. In fact, you can wait until after you’ve received your scores to decide if you want to send them.

If you’d like to send your scores the day you take the test, you have two options:

  • ScoreSelect Most Recent option — Send the scores from the test you just took.

  • ScoreSelect All option — Send the scores from all the GREs taken in the last five years.

Both these options are free; you can choose which one you wish to use for each of the four free score reports included in your GRE registration fee.

If you do not choose to send your scores immediately after taking your test, you have three options:

  • ScoreSelect Most Recent option — Send the scores from your most recent GRE administration.

  • ScoreSelect All option — Send the scores from all the GREs you’ve taken in the last five years.

  • ScoreSelect Any option — Send the scores from one or many of your GRE administrations in the last five years.

Note that if you choose to send your scores after test day, you will have to pay an additional fee per report to send.

Also, keep in mind that ScoreSelect does not allow you to choose scores from specific sections within each administration. Scores for a test administration must be reported in their entirety.

According to ETS, ScoreSelect will be available for both the GRE General Test and for GRE Subject Tests and will allow students to choose from any of their valid GRE test scores.
